Story

The clock in the tower of St Firmin's Church is in need of an overhaul and repair in order to get chiming as it once did as well as adjustment to keep time more accurately.

The clock was movement is believed to have been Installed in Victorian times by John Bennett, a renowned clockmaker, who operated from 65 Cheapside, London

Claydon Clocks have quoted £3400 for the repair, the clock would be taken away for overhaul and this would then give us the opportunity to put it on display in the village before it is restored back into the tower

St Firmin's DCC along with Friends of St Firmins are looking at the grants available to assist with the work, but these take time. We would welcome donations from the community to help restore this much-loved village asset. Any donations will go directly to this project.
