Northern Ireland's fundraiser for Cats Protection

Carina needs your help
3 year old Carina was rescued from straying on the streets by a kind-hearted pensioner who reported her to the Northern Ireland Cat Centre. Carina had been taking shelter from the elements and living under her garden shed.
Thankfully we were able to take Carina into our care at the Cat Centre and give her the TLC and veterinary care that she badly needed.
Carina was worse for wear and had advanced solar dermatitis on both of her ears due to overexposure to the sun. Solar dermatitis is a skin condition affecting the ears, and other areas with thin or white fur, due to prolonged sun exposure. It starts with redness and hair loss and can progress to crusting, scabbing and even skin cancer if left untreated.
Cats Protection's vets were able to remove the diseased portions of Carina's ears and our Rehoming & Welfare Assistants have been helping Carina with her post operative care. Despite her newfound appearance, Carina is a much happier and healthier cat and can hear as normal.
Carina is still recovering from her surgery and has been in the care of the Cat Centre for 34 days.
Over that time, Carina’s cost of care has totalled over £500. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of people like you. £500 will cover the full cost of Carina’s extra care and surgery, alongside vaccinations, neutering, microchipping and flea and worm treatments. Any donations received above and beyond this amount will be used to care for other cats across Northern Ireland who have ended up in our care through no fault of their own.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Carina’s story with your friends, family, and on social media. Together, we can make a big difference to their lives.
