Story
On 30/03, Northumberland Fire & Rescue Service's latest cohort of wholetime trainee firefighters will be walking Craster to Bamburgh Castle. They'll take on this 13 mile challenge in full fire kit and breathing apparatus (which is nearly 30kg additional weight!) in order to raise money for The Firefighter's Charity.
The Firefighters Charity provides specialist mental, physical and social health support to UK fire service personnel, retirees and their families. Operating through centres, remote services and a 24/7 crisis line, it offers physiotherapy, counselling and recovery programmes, relying heavily on public fundraising to support the "fire family".
