The Police Unity Tour is a long-distance cycle ride undertaken by hundreds of police officers across the UK, to raise awareness and funds for Care of Police Survivors.

Story

COPS provides peer support opportunities and access to counselling services to help surviving family members (‘survivors’) rebuild their shattered lives.

"Your loss is a part of who you are but COPS helps you realise that it doesn’t define you. We are all one big family."

Since its foundation in 2003, COPS has helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty.

Northumbria Police will be supporting COPS in 2025 through the Police Unity Tour (PUT) in August and The Great North Run (GNR) in September.

The team will consist of:

- Vanessa Jardine (both events)

- Andy Hill (Police Unity Tour)

- Steve Wykes (Police Unity Tour)

- Julie Schneider (both events)

- Craig Manning (Police Unity Tour)

- Steve Halbert (Police Unity Tour)

- Ree Gray (GNR)

- Neil Turnbull (GNR)

- Ed O’Brien (GNR)

- Michael Curry (GNR)

- Sherrill Lamb (GNR)

- Claire Swales (Police Unity Tour)
