Story
Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. When a child has a serious illness, family life is turned upside down and time becomes more precious than ever. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support, for as long as is needed. Rainbow Trust supports the whole family including parents, carers, the unwell child, brothers, sisters and grandparents.
The North Western Engineering Excellence Dinner Awards committee is proud to select the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity as one of our beneficiaries this year.
While we celebrate engineering achievements, we want to pause and provide support to families in the North West facing unimaginable challenges. When a child has a life-threatening or terminal illness, the whole family needs help—and that's exactly what the Rainbow Trust provides.
We are raising money to fund their essential Family Support Workers. These amazing people step in to help ease the crushing pressure on families by providing:
Practical Support: Driving siblings to school, helping with hospital appointments, or simply sitting with a sick child so a parent can rest.
Emotional Support: Offering a listening ear and critical resilience to parents and siblings coping with fear, isolation, and grief.
Time and Space: Providing moments of respite so families can spend quality time together, making memories.
Your donation ensures that the Rainbow Trust can offer a lifeline to these families, standing by them every step of the way.
By donating through the North Western Engineering Excellence Dinner Awards, you are helping deliver vital emotional and practical support to families right here in our region when they need it most.
