Story
In March 2024, two days after my birthday, I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer and referred to UCLH for treatment. Having read and having heard the horror stories, I was adamant that 'chemo' was not an option for me. What became clear when I met my consultants was that without 'chemo' I had no options so I signed the consent forms and started on my journey to beat cancer. It wasn't an easy one as losing my hair was harder that I could ever imagine but I was supported by amazing people and, today, I am cancer free.
I feel lucky, humbled and privileged to be here and enjoying life where so many others have lost their battles so I want to do my part and raise funds to help other women fight ovarian cancer. And I am again not doing this alone as a fantastic group of women are joining me on this run so our impact can be even greater.
To my Ova Achievers - Jodie, Fran, Leanne and Lisa - a massive thank you for putting yourself through sweat to help me not only cross the finish line but enhance the fundraising efforts. You have kept me going over the last 12 months and I know that together we will cross the finish line for the benefit of many women! Thank you!
