Story
The David Nott Foundation was established with a simple mission: to provide surgeons & medical professionals working in the most hostile environments with the skills & the confidence to save more lives. At the frontlines of these crises are the doctors & medical professionals who work tirelessly, often against the odds, to help help victims & preserve life.Yet in countries where resources are scarce, and access to equipment and training is limited, these doctors are left to face the most challenging of circumstances, ill-equipped & unsupported.
On 6th September our team will undertake a hike up Yr Wyddfa in aid of this worthwhile cause.
The Nott Foundation has been involved heavily with the War in Ukraine. Just days after Russia’s invasion, they ran a 12-hour surgical training course on zoom with former consultant neurosurgeon and author, Dr Henry Marsh. Together, David and Henry trained 573 Ukrainian surgeons, giving them surgical techniques, tools and tips for treating a range of traumatic war wounds. It was only when David lost his voice 12 hours in that the training stopped.
