Nottingham Comets are running 5k for Nottingham Central Women's Aid.

Nottingham Comets are a female basketball group. As part of our ethos we want to support women in our local community. So we're running 5k in support of Central women's aid. Central Women's Aid supports and empowers women who have survived abuse. They provide refuge, education and resources. Any amount that you can donate, as little as it may be, will be greatly appreciated. Please also share this with friends and family that you think would be interested in supporting this cause!

44% of violent crime in Nottingham are domestic violence.

1 in 10 children live in a household where there is domestic abuse.

Central Women's Aid provides temporary accommodation and support for families who need to flee domestic abuse immediately. Specialist domestic abuse workers provide emotional and practical support for the whole family.

£15 can help bring a family to safety after fleeing abuse.

£60 can provide essential items and support for a woman and child in a refuge

£150 can provide therapeutic and specialist support for a child in refuge
