We’re on a mission to keep fit in 2026, and to do this we’re going to walk. A lot. 49,800 miles in fact - the equivalent of walking around the circumference of the world - twice!

How are we going to achieve this... simple. Together.

Staff and service users from across Nouvita will combine their collective walking muscles, track their movements and contribute to the scoreboard to help us reach our goal.

How many steps is 49,800 miles? Good question. It’s approximately 112,000,000 steps. Yes, you’ve read that right... 112 MILLION steps.

But with our mighty workforce of ~400 people, plus ~100 service users getting involved, this mammoth distance works out to a very do-able 307 steps per person per day. Easy peasy.

So get your walking shoes on, use your phone or watch to track your steps, and submit your step count daily, weekly or monthly.

We’re raising money for Nouvita’s chosen 2026 charity - The Wooden Spoon - plus each site can choose a local charity as well. The site which has covered the most steps will have their local charity donations matched by Nouvita.

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby, funding life-changing projects across the UK and Ireland to support children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.

Research shows that 1 in 10 children in the UK and Ireland have a disability and there are 3.5 million children in the UK living in poverty. These numbers continue to rise and more and more children need our help.

Their vision is that through the power of rugby, every child and young person has access to the same opportunities.

Through Nouvita's BIG Walk 2026, we aim to raise money to support this good cause as our chosen charity for 2026.
