Winter is when life’s inequalities are laid bare along the streets of North Kensington. Scenes of festive warmth and celebration contrast sharply with those of stark need and insecurity within the space of a few steps.

In an area where abundant wealth exists alongside grinding poverty, life expectancy between the most and least fortunate, differs by the span of an entire generation.

With so many ‘big news’ stories flooding the content we consume, it is easy to overlook the many ordinary people around us who are slipping further behind, struggling to survive day to day.

At Nova, we believe that everyone has the right to look ahead with hope. Our mission is to create the conditions in which people can build stronger lives and feel a sense of possibility, regardless of background.

This means addressing immediate challenges such as food and energy poverty, insecure housing and precarious employment, and helping people develop the skills and confidence to move forward.

It means creating opportunities for exhausted families to gain respite and connection, and for young people to grow into their voice and power.

It means listening, adapting and delivering our services for all who seek our help and for whom we can support.

Last year, our small team of 27 staff and volunteers worked alongside over 2,500 people, building paths towards independence, agency and brighter prospects.

How to take part (important)

- You must be 18 years or older to take part.

- Tickets cost £5 each and can be purchased up until 11pm (UK time) Monday, 5th January 2026.

- You can buy as many tickets as you wish within the total fundraising limit of £20,000 for this raffle.

- Take care when entering the amount. For example: £16 will buy you three raffle tickets (for £15). The remaining £1 will be treated as a donation.

- Gift Aid is not applicable for raffle tickets.

- Raffle draw date is Wednesday, 7th January 2026.

Please make sure you do one of the following:

(1) Tick the box to agree to be contacted by Nova New Opportunities when you buy your ticket(s).

- OR -

(2) Email yourJustGiving receipt which has your donation reference number to: TIEU.PHAM@NOVANEW.ORG.UK by 1pm, 6th January 2026 at the latest.

We will notify all winners within two weeks after the draw date using the name and email address details above.

Terms & Conditions

Please read before buying your tickets.

** If you do not provide contact details (as described above) and Nova has no reasonable way of contacting you prior to the raffle draw, then you will not be entered into the prize draw. Tickets are non-refundable. **

Items in the prize bundles (for the cookbooks and the children’s toys) will be chosen by Nova. Requests for specific items will not be possible.

Prizes that cannot be emailed or sent by post in a small letter-size envelope, will be the prize winner's responsibility to collect.

If a prize winner does not pick up their prize from Nova's office (2 Thorpe Close London W10 5XL) within 6 months after we first try to contact them, the prize will be considered donated back to Nova.
