Noviun's fundraiser for CASK Research Foundation

Francesca Bianco is raising money for CASK Research Foundation

Great South Run · 18 October 2026 ·

CASK gene mutations lead to serious neurological disorders where children often can't talk, walk or even play. 40% have epilepsy and some require feeding tubes. Our organisation supports families and raises money to fund vital research into this catastrophic disease.

Story

Noviun is running 10 Miles for CASK and children like Sarah.

Sarah lives with a rare CASK-related disorder.

CASK is the name of a gene essential for healthy development of the brain. Mutations in this gene cause disorders that all affect brain function and range from microcephaly to a multitude of problems, including moderate to severe intellectual disability, low tone, intractable epilepsy, feeding and drinking difficulties, inability to walk, poor balance, and vision and/or hearing loss.

Laura, has bravely founded the CASK Research Foundation and her dedication is helping the scientific community to understand and develop treatments for CASK-related disorders. Since 2022, UK research has grown from zero to at least five universities working towards targeted therapies.

This charity is volunteer-led only. There are no admin salaries, therefore, every single penny raised from this fundraising goes directly into scientific research.
