In memory of Jules Forder and Ray Fitzpatrick

Memory walk after our in person event in London · 1 April 2025

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) improves the lives of people of all ages by co-producing, sharing, and supporting the use of the best available knowledge and evidence about what works in practice. We are a leading social care improvement independent charity.

Story

We are fundraising in memory of two admirable colleagues (Professor Jules Forder and Professor Ray Fitzpatrick), prominent figures in social care research, practice and policy, who sadly passed away last year after short battles with the devastating diagnosis of terminal cancer. On the 1st of April 2025 we are holding our first in person networking event as part of the National Priority Programme for Adult Social Care and Social Work, where both Jules and Ray played a key role. From 3.45 to 5 pm we plan to walk together 6000 steps (aprox 3 miles) on an guided route close to Friends House in London Euston (where the event is being held). Why not spread the word about this and encourage other colleagues to donate, or for those who live locally to join us and actively take part in this important cause? Make your steps count!
