ChildLine is the UK's free and confidential, 24 hour helpline for children in distress or danger. Trained volunteer counsellors comfort, advise, support and protect children and young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Children call ChildLine about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy. Children and young people can call ChildLine about anything – no problem is too big or too small. ChildLine is a service provided by the NSPCC

40 years ago former Captain and President of Bearsted Golf Club, John Brooks, organised the very first golf day to raise funds for NSPCC.

Childline celebrates it’s 40th Birthday this year. We help children and young people. We've delivered over 6 million Childline counselling sessions since we started. As we turn 40, we’re celebrating every child who uses Childline. We want to make sure everyone knows that Childline’s here for whatever children and young people are going through.

Childline’s more than a number.

So is every child who contacts us.

Every child deserves the best possible chance to rebuild their life after abuse. That’s why we’re here. That's what drives all our work. And that’s why – as long as there’s abuse – we will fight for every childhood. Now, we’re asking you to help us support them and together be here for children.

“Contacting Childline was a chance for me to just talk through things in a way I hadn’t done before. It was a relief to get it out. They actually wanted to listen, and I felt that.”

Every little helps, however small, and your generosity will be appreciated. It costs:

£4 to fund a call to Childline

£12 to train a volunteer

£27 to pay for Childline Supervisor – support our volunteer counsellors

£62 to pay for headset equipment allowing Counsellors to work remotely during these challenging times.

Donating through Justgiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Justgiving - they never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the NSPCC - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much in advance for your support.

With best wishes,

The Bearsted Golf Club Committee
