Childline and FBHVC Celebrate Continued Partnership Around Drive It Day; Over £250,000 Raised to Date, Driving Hope for the Next Generation
Childline and the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) are proud to announce the continuation of their impactful partnership around Drive It Day, a national celebration of historic vehicles that has become a powerful force for good.
Over the past five years, this collaboration has raised over £250,000 through the sale of Drive It Day Rally Plates. A remarkable achievement made possible by the generosity of the historic vehicle community and the unwavering support of FBHVC members and enthusiasts across the UK.
But this partnership is about more than just numbers. It’s about listening to children when they feel unheard, being there when no one else is, and offering hope when it feels out of reach.
Every Rally Plate sold helps fund Childline’s vital services — ensuring trained volunteer counsellors are available 24/7 to support children and young people facing abuse, neglect, anxiety, and loneliness. In a world that can feel overwhelming, Childline offers a lifeline. And thanks to FBHVC’s continued support, that lifeline will remain strong.
Looking ahead to the next five years, this partnership will continue to drive change. With the cost of living crisis, rising mental health concerns, and increasing demand for support, Childline’s work has never been more critical. The funds raised through Drive It Day will help ensure that every child who reaches out is met with compassion, understanding, and expert care.
Michele Baxter, Fundraising Manager at NSPCC, said:
“This partnership is a beautiful example of how passion and purpose can come together. The historic vehicle community has shown extraordinary commitment to Childline, and thanks to their support, thousands of children have found someone to talk to when they needed it most. We’re excited to continue this journey together — driving hope, one Rally Plate at a time.”
A young person who contacted Childline shared:
“I didn’t think anyone would understand what I was going through. But the person I spoke to at Childline really listened. They helped me feel less alone. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them.”
Drive It Day 2026 promises to be bigger and more meaningful than ever. As engines roar to life and vehicles take to the roads, they’ll carry with them a message of solidarity, compassion, and unwavering support for the UK’s children and young people.
