Story
This year I wanted to do a challenge and have decided along with my friends Debbie and Zara to do a 100K (62 miles) walking ultra along the Thames path on September 12th 2026.
Choosing the charity I want to raise money for was really easy, the motor neurone disease (MND) Association.
My friend James has shared his and his husband Sam’s story of Sam being diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2022 at such a young age of 35.
Sam created a bucket list and one of the things he wants to do is raise £50,000 for MND Association. I knew that I wanted to do my little bit to help achieve this goal. The charity needs all the funding it can get. There is currently no cure for motor neurone disease as it is a progressive condition that attacks the nerves controlling movement and treatments focus on symptom management to improve quality of life.
If you want to know more please do follow Sam’s blogs on his Sam’s bucket list page

If you want to read Sam’s book MND The Club You Dont Want to Join which shares his story so far (and was one of his bucket list items to do) I would highly recommend reading to find out more about MND.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this page, I am a little worried about walking 62 miles but oh my if I can raise money for MND I will do it.
