My Journey of Faith and Service

On 19th July 2025, I will embark on an extraordinary motorbike pilgrimage starting from Pinner, UK and making my way through four of Europe's most sacred sanctuaries: Lourdes (France), Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Fátima (Portugal), and Cristo Rei (Portugal).

This spiritual journey, undertaken in memory of Pope John Paul II and celebrating my five years of service as a Cubs Assistant Leader, will cover about 1,800 miles across Europe.

Why am I Riding for Our Scouts?

The 3rd Pinner (St Luke's) Scout Group has been a cornerstone of our community for years, providing young people with invaluable opportunities to develop character, learn new skills, and build lasting friendships. Our Scouts participate in adventures, community service, and personal growth activities that shape them into confident, capable young adults.

However, like many Scout groups, we face ongoing challenges with funding for the following:

- Essential equipment and camping gear

- Activity materials and craft supplies

- Transport costs for trips and expeditions

- Extended support for other causes and charities such as the Harrow scouts swimming club etc.

(Me and just 2 of my boys in uniform a few years ago - at this moment the oldest is an explorer, the middle one a scout and the youngest is already a cub)

The Sanctuaries: A Path of Reflection and Purpose

Each sanctuary along my journey holds a unique and personal significance:

Lourdes, France - A sanctuary of healing and hope. Millions come seeking comfort and the possibility of miracles.

Santiago de Compostela, Spain - The historic endpoint of the ancient Camino pilgrimage route, rich in spiritual and cultural meaning.

Fátima, Portugal - Site of the famous Marian apparitions and the centre of devotion

Cristo Rei, Portugal - A towering symbol of faith and protection, watching over Lisbon with open arms.

As I travel between these sacred places, I’ll be sharing updates and reflections here as often as I can.
