Story

University of Southampton's nursing society are incredibly proud to be supporting Sophie’s Legacy as our chosen charity for the 2026/27 academic year. Sophie’s Legacy helps make hospital stays a little brighter for seriously ill children and their families by providing essentials, activities, treats, and practical support during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

As student nurses, we see first-hand the impact that being in hospital can have on children and their families. We chose Sophie’s Legacy because their work reflects something that is deeply important to us as future nurses: caring for the whole family, supporting emotional wellbeing, and helping children continue to feel like children, even while they are in hospital.

Throughout the year, NURSOC will be organising and taking part in a range of fundraising and awareness events, including our NURSOC Run Club, 24-hour CPRathon, and many more activities across the academic year. We hope to bring our nursing community together, have plenty of fun along the way, and raise our target of £1,000 to support the incredible work of Sophie’s Legacy.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us support children and families during their hospital journey. Please support NURSOC and Sophie’s Legacy today, and help us make a meaningful difference for those who need it most.

Thank you so much for supporting this cause.

Lots of love Zara (charity rep) and the whole nursoc committee.
