Danielle & Neil’s fundraiser for The Lewy Body Society

DANIELLE EADIE is raising money for The Lewy Body Society

The West Highland Way · 15 April 2026

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

In April this year, we will be taking on one of Scotlands most famous walks to raise funds and awareness for The Lewy Body Society. The walk will take us on an epic journey of 96miles through the highlands from Milngavie, near Glasgow to Fort William in Lochaber. We’ll venture up the eastern side of Loch Lomond heading towards the vast expanse of Rannoch Moor and the mountains of Glencoe before heading over the Devils Staircase to Kinlochleven before taking on the final stretch to Fort William at the base of Ben Nevis.

The walk will take us 8days in total with some sections 8-9miles and others 15-16miles and we would love to reach our goal of £10 per mile for this amazing cause. Any donations are very much appreciated!

The Lewy Body Society was founded in 2006 to support research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of the disease. We aim to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
