Story

***TEAM PAGE***

Mitesh, Hazel, Helena, Chris, Max, Teresa & Ben are doing the 24hr 3 Peaks Challenge in October as part of a work event and raising money for Oakhaven Hospice.

The 3 Peaks Challenge takes on the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales over a 24hr period. The challenge will begin in Scotland where we will climb Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the UK standing at 1,344m. We will then be driven to the Lake District where we begin Scafell Pike; the highest mountain in England standing at 978m for a night climb and descent. Our final challenge takes on the highest mountain in Wales; Snowdon, standing at 1,085m. By the end we will have trekked for 15 hours, climbed around 9,600 feet and have walked approx. 21 miles.

To raise the most money we can for Oakhaven, we are also participating in the Oakhaven Marathon walk event held on 17th May which starts in Sandbanks and finishes at Oakhaven hospice totalling 26 miles. We will be joined by Lydia, Jess, Claire, Rachel and Hayley who are helping us raise funds too.

Oakhaven hospice is a fantastic charity offering loved ones with end of life and critical illness support to them and their families on the south coast. This charity touched our hearts when they supported our colleague’s family through the challenging times of managing end of life and bereavement.

Oakhaven also offer support groups, therapy & workshops but only 11% of Oakhavens annual running costs are covered by the NHS. For the remaining 89% they rely on generosity of their community.

We are hoping to raise over £2,500 to help towards the incredible care & support they give.....

£47 pays for physiotherapy session

£130 pays for 2 bereavement counselling sessions.

£210 pays for a home visit to a patient by a community nurse.

£480 pays for 4 patients to visit their day hospice for support.

£840 pays for 24hrs of care for someone at the hospice.

Any donations to help support us & the hospice would be highly appreciated.

Wish us luck!
