Story
Comic Relief supports incredible projects and organisations that are making a difference for people across the UK and around the world.
On Friday 20th March, Outwood Academy Newbold will join thousands of schools up and down the country coming together to spread joy, have fun and raise money for those who need it most. We have decided to do something amazing and ask every student in school to ‘Run a Mile’ throughout the community. Each year group has been allocated a lesson slot and will come down to PE to be briefed in the sports hall, before setting off running. We know there’s a lot going on right now and for many people things are really tough, but if you can donate, every penny will add up to a life changing difference. Your child has been given a sponsorship form and we are asking that they try to raise as much money as they can. Students can either donate on the just giving page or bring cash in on the day. We appreciate that running a mile will be a real challenge for some and simply ask students to do the best they can, even if that means walking all/some of the route.
Any donation you can make will make a difference. It could help provide shelter for those that need it, put food on plates, fill the shelves of baby banks, offer someone to talk to, or somewhere to be safe. It will go towards organisations supporting those facing poverty and injustice here in the UK and around the world.
Lets smash this OAN!
