Oxford Brookes Korean Hallyu Society presents BLACKPINK Ball! · 12 April 2024

Mental Health Research UK: The first UK charity dedicated to raising funds for research into mental illnesses, their causes and cures.

Story

It can take a long time for a person to realise they need help with their mental health, and then further to seek that help. Problems regarding mental health affect 1 in 6 people in the UK. Despite the alarming spike in mental health problems in the last 50 years or so, the ridiculous taboo concept attached to these issues is now something we shake our heads at due to increased awareness and understanding. People are able to hear more positive stories of treatment through various channels including word of mouth and social media, encouraging others – and often themselves – to find the support they require.

As students, many of us face overwhelming stress, anxieties, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, depression, unhealthy perfectionism and much more, and we deserve to have access to appropriate support.

The Oxford Brookes Korean Hallyu Society Committee invite you to the BLACKPINK Ball on April 12th 2024, to raise funds for the Mental Health Research UK. This charity is dedicated to conducting fundamental research and providing all-rounded support for those struggling with mental health issues. By strengthening our collective understanding of the causes of these issues, we can be one step closer to saving lives through early diagnosis and improving treatment options.

We have set a target amount of £1000 for this challenge. Your support can help us reach and hopefully surpass this goal to make a lasting impact on mental health research and support services.

Behind every smile lies a thousand unspoken words. Together, let’s make a difference and create a brighter future to those who need it most.
