More than 1 in 4 children in England leave primary school unable to read well with disadvantaged children leaving primary school on average a year behind their peers. One in eight children aged 5-8 in the UK don’t own a book of their own at home.

As many of you know I'm a volunteer reading assistant for Bookmark and work with up to 6 kids a year through their 12 week reading programmes, which involve one on sessions held twice a week online for 30 minutes.

But Bookmark also needs cash, so I'm aiming to raise £500 by walking the Cotswold Way which is 102 miles in length in 6 days - so averaging 17 miles per days.
