I'm running 25 kilometers from Bath to Bristol along the old railway cycle path raise money for Cool Earth, a charity dedicated to protecting rainforests and fighting climate change. This will be the furthest I’ve ever run, and it’s going to be incredibly difficult!

Why am I doing this? Because if we don’t have a planet to live on, all other causes become a bit redundant. Also, because I enjoy suffering and have nothing better to do, apparently.

• How can you run 25k?

Good question, it really comes down to basic physics, once a mass has gathered enough inertia it becomes very difficult to slow down. It's commonly referred to as the law of the juggernaut.

• Couldn't you just get the train?

Yes, but due to the usual cancellations and delays my run may end up being quicker.

• Are you going to survive this?

Who knows. Please donate generously in my memory on the assumption that I will not.

Because what's the point in other charities if there's no planet to live on? probably something, but less I imagine.
