100 Hole Golf Marathon Challenge for our Uncle Peter – Supporting the MND Association
“Why me?”
It is a question our Uncle Peter is now living with every day.
In August 2025, Peter was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). It is a progressive, life-limiting condition with no cure. Life has changed quickly, and not in a way anyone would choose.
So we are stepping up.
On 18th June, the three of us, Steve, Matt and Mark, are taking on a 100 Hole Golf Marathon Challenge at Slinfold Golf & Country Club in West Sussex.
And no, this is not just a long day on the golf course, despite what our partners might say.
We start at 4am and keep going until all 100 holes are done. That means:
• Walking the equivalent of a marathon distance or more
• Being on our feet for up to 18 hours
• Hitting well over 1,400 shots between us
• Battling fatigue, sore feet, and each other’s golf swings all day
There is no option to stop. We finish what we start.
A big thank you to Slinfold Golf & Country Club for hosting the challenge, and to Luke Blacker for helping make it possible. Their support gives us the chance to take this on properly and raise as much as we can for the MND Association.
We are raising money for the MND Association, who are already supporting Peter and his family.
If you can donate, please give what you can.
• £20 helps support families living with MND
• £50 contributes towards specialist equipment
• £100 supports vital research towards a cure
Our target is £5,000.
If you cannot donate, please share this page. It makes a difference.
This is for Peter. And for everyone facing MND.
Thank you.
Steve, Matt and Mark
