I used to volunteer here. You hear about foreign wars on the news and think it don't affect you. When I went to this foodbank, I met people who had literally left Syria that week. They came to the UK with no possessions, no money, family members left behind and spoke no English. They were living in the same area of London as me yet I had no idea of the struggles they were really dealing with. I probably shared a bus journey with them and thought nothing of it. I want to fundraise for Brent foodbank because they help the people in our community that need it most.
