Many UN agencies have acknowledged that there is “epic suffering” in Sudan, with a child dying of malnutrition every two hours in a single camp in the Western Darfur region. Half of the 52 million population urgently need food assistance, with over 755,000 people on the brink of/experiencing famine.

Nearly 11 million people have been internally displaced from their homes losing their livelihoods and dignity. Just over 2 million have fled Sudan to neighbouring countries with over 350,000 seeking refuge in Cairo, Egypt.

AlhamduliAllah, in Cairo we can easily purchase and distribute the food to the Sudanese refugees who need the support with the help of a Sudanese refugee female led charity Al Tafa’ul. Please note that as little as £20 feeds a family of 6 for 10 days. If you wish to support one family of 6 for a whole month, please donate £60.

The urgent need continues with a particular focus on women who have been victims of sexual violence in Sudan and en route to Cairo. Currently, Al Tafa’ul has 897 registered victims who are need of psychological and economic support, 350 of whom have given birth as a result of the attacks.

Half of the proceeds of this fundraiser will be going towards building and developing hospitals in El-Gazira region in Sudan. This is an area of Sudan where many internally displaced people are fleeing and are in urgent need of medical care.

‎وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَآ أَحْيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًۭا ۚ

"and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity".
