Dermot's fundraiser for Prostate Cancer Research

Dermot Allen is raising money for Prostate Cancer Research

Training to achieve a 200kg free squat on my 63rd birthday · 16 March 2026

People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments. Research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Combining patient stories and scientific expertise, we fund projects that have a real impact, reducing side-effects, cutting treatment costs and ultimately improving outcomes.

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!

I'm aiming to beat the "LESS THAN TEN CLUB", for UK men my age and older. In order to achieve this I have to complete one free squat at 200kg for my 63rd Birthday, 16th March 2026. It's a tall order!

Statistically, the percentage of all 63-years-olds and above in the UK, who can perform a barbell free squat with 200kg on their back is less than 0.001%, hence the "less than ten club". Wish me luck, I'll need it!

Prostate Cancer Research are dedicated to creating brand new prostate cancer treatments. Prostate cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer in the UK and 11,500 men die from the disease every year. People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality.

Their vision is clear; a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. I’m part of #TeamPCR because I share this vision. Will you help me support their research?
