Old Library Fundraiser

Corn Exchange is raising money for The Corn Exchange (Newbury) Trust

Newbury Krazy Races · 24 August 2025

We urgently need a new home for our creative participation work which aims to: reduce social isolation; improve mental health; and build confidence. The Old Library is the perfect new space, and we are raising money to reopen it for our community.

Story

A passionate team of staff from the Corn Exchange Newbury are coming together to build their very own soapbox vehicle and take on the wacky and wonderful Newbury Krazy Races, hosted by Newbury BID!

But this isn’t just for fun (although there’ll be plenty of that!) — we’re racing to raise vital funds for our Old Library Campaign. We’ve already raised an amazing £793,000 to transform the Old Library into a new hub for arts and wellbeing. It will be a place to connect with others, develop creative skills or try new things – to improve emotional, physical and mental wellbeing for our community.

The Old Library is the perfect place to become that home – a welcoming, accessible space where we can continue delivering life-changing creative projects that reduce social isolation, improve mental health, and build confidence.

We believe in the power of the arts to transform lives, and we need your help to make this vision a reality. We still need to raise £100,000 from our public campaign so every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to creating a vibrant community hub in the heart of Newbury.

Please support our soapbox race and help turn the Old Library into a space that inspires, connects, and uplifts.

Thank you!
