Story
On my birthday (30th of August) I will be making an attempt at 5 km backyard ultra. This is going to be me running a 5 km loop on the hour for as long I can, with some determination I will hopefully get to the 24 hour mark.
The reasons why I choose MNDA for this challenge?
Some of my close friends and myself have been effected by MND, As a boxer and rugby league player it does feel a little too close to home as recent research shows that there is a link between concussions and MND so its only right for me to at least try and fight against this horrible disease.
Why the challenge?
This famous David Goggins has been on my bucket list for a while now to see where I am mentally with pain (everyone thinks their tough) and to see If I can break through that pain barrier and carry on going, what sets this apart to any other races is that I wont be racing anyone and there wont be a goal in mind like 50 km or 80 km.
I hope that with a bit of luck I will get into the deep waters running through the night by myself, now isn't that some crazy stuff?
