Story
🐾 I’m walking for the ones left behind — will you walk with me, in spirit?
This August, I’m taking part in the Dundee Kiltwalk 2025 — not just for the challenge, but for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart:
👉 Charlie’s Old Codgers Foundation — a small, deeply compassionate animal rescue supporting pets left behind when their owners go into care or pass away.
When I first learned about this charity, something in me just stopped.
Imagine this:
An elderly man is moved to a care home after a fall. His only companion — a 12-year-old dog named Bella — is suddenly left without a home, without her person, and without understanding why.
Charlie’s Old Codgers steps in for dogs like Bella.
They rescue, rehabilitate, and reunite. They offer lifelong care — not cages. And whenever possible, they organise visits between pets and their original owners, keeping precious bonds alive.
This isn’t just rescue — it’s dignity. It’s love. It’s loyalty.
And they don’t get government funding — they rely entirely on people like us.
That’s why I’m walking.
Every step I take on the Kiltwalk is a step toward food, medicine, warmth, and security for animals who have lost everything.
I’m hoping to raise £500 to help cover vet bills, transport, and care for the next “old codger” in need.
If this story touched your heart even a little — please, donate what you can.
Even £2 can help change a little life.
🐾 Let’s make sure no one is left behind. Not even the dog.
With all my gratitude,
