Padstow to Rock Swim 2026
Campaign by Marie Curie (RCN 207994 (England & Wales), SC038731 (Scotland))
Swim one mile across the Camel Estuary on 12th July 2026 and raise money to help Marie Curie Nurses continue to care for people at the end of life, whatever the illness.

Story

In 2015, I first experienced the incredible support of Marie Curie when they cared for my father-in-law at home in Poole during his final days. Until then, I had never witnessed someone dying, and I was amazed by how peaceful, compassionate, and dignified those last days were. My three young children were able to spend precious time with him and say goodbye in the comfort of home.

Just a few months later, both of my parents died only weeks apart. I cared for my mum at home without hospice support, and during that time I truly understood how invaluable Marie Curie’s care is for families facing loss.

That experience has stayed with me ever since, and it’s why supporting Marie Curie means so much to me today.

On 12th July 2026, a group of us including Sophie, Jan, Ceri, Jill, Olga, Alison, Becky and Helen will be swimming one mile across the Camel Estuary, from Padstow to Rock, to raise money to help Marie Curie Nurses continue to care for people at the end of life, whatever the illness.

All the money raised will help Marie Curie provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.

£3 helps fund a meal for a patient in one of our hospices.

£26 helps help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.

£207 helps fund nine hours of overnight nursing care in a patient's home.

Thank you so much for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
