It’s about that time of year again… the time where I start pestering my friends, family and students for money for our Strictly Extravaganza in aid of Forest Holme Hospice 😂🕺

Over the years, so many of you have been unbelievably generous whenever I’ve asked for donations, sponsorships, raffle prizes and everything else we’ve thrown at you. I’m very aware that I’ve asked a LOT… so this year, I want to do things a little differently.

I’m also conscious of the current climate… cheers Labour! 😂 JOKING!!

So instead of simply asking people to give me money, this year ...I’m going to offer my time in return for donations.

Every week in the build-up to Strictly, I’m going to add an additional 45-minute lesson to my teaching schedule.

I won’t take a penny for teaching that lesson.

Instead, whoever takes the lesson can donate whatever they feel the lesson was worth directly to my JustGiving page for Forest Holme Hospice.

£5, £10, £20, £50 — honestly, the amount doesn’t matter. The idea is that little by little, week by week, we can turn my time into money for an incredible local charity.

And I don’t want it to stop with dance lessons either.

Over the next few months I’m going to find different ways of offering my time, skills and probably dignity 😂 in exchange for donations.

So if there’s something you think I could do for you, a favour you need, a challenge you want to set me, or something you’d happily donate a few quid to watch me attempt… send it my way.

Last year our Strictly event raised an incredible £80,000, and this year we want to see just how far we can push it. Over 100K would be a dreammm!!
