Great North Run 2025 · 7 September 2025 ·

The Great North Run is the world’s biggest half marathon and will be back for 2025, on Sunday 7th September. Will you join the Headlight Project Team and run to raise vital funds and awareness of suicide prevention 🧡.

Story

I will be taking part in this years Great North Run to raise funds for The Headlight Project. I'll be running the world's biggest half marathon to raise vital funds and awareness of suicide prevention & mental health.

The reason for choosing this special charity is due to my personal experiences over the last year - not only having battles of my own with mental health and seeing firsthand the impact organisations like this can have on individuals in times of need.

But not only that, in November of last year, I lost a good friend of mine, Archie Holford, who sadly lost his battle with mental health and left us far too soon. His passing had a profound impact on so many of us. Archie was one of those rare people who lit up every room he walked into. His energy, his laughter, and his spontaneity brought light even on the darkest days.

To me, Archie wasn’t just a friend - he was like family. At times, he felt like an older brother, showing us new parts of life. His family - Tara, the late beloved Stephen, and Lily - have always been like a second family to me. They’ve supported me more times than I can count, and seeing the strength and grace his mum and his sister have shown through such an unimaginable loss has only deepened my desire to raise awareness for this cause.

Supporting The Headlight Project is my way of honouring Archie’s memory and helping to bring greater awareness, support, and hope to those who may be struggling in silence.

This one’s for you Arch.

Any support would be greatly appreciated, Cheers x
