Story
Last year, we lost a truly special man, Quinten E.C Brenninkmeijer. Samuel and I had the privilege of going to Malvern College with Quinten, and we were lucky enough to call him one of our closest friends. He brought us endless laughs and we created lifelong memories together. His amazing storytelling ability, sense of humour, and kind heart have left a huge void in our lives. Samuel and I were both eagerly looking forward to the future of our friendship, but we will always be grateful for the impact he had on our lives.
Samuel and I will be cycling 1000km this month for James’ Place Charity. James' Place was established by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley following the heartbreaking loss of their son James in 2006. Just ten days after a minor operation, James tragically took his own life. James’ Place now offers life-saving therapy to men who are facing suicidal thoughts.
In the United Kingdom, suicide is the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50. Unfortunately, this is a topic that is not discussed enough and is often overlooked. In order to prevent further loss of life, it is crucial to raise awareness and provide support for this incredibly important issue. By making a donation to this worthy cause, we can help save lives. The impact of James' Place is evident through the 2,000 therapy sessions they have already provided and the many men they have successfully supported.
Quinten went through a difficult time without expressing it openly, and we believe it's time for a change and for us to raise awareness. We kindly request your support through a donation, no matter the amount, to help as many people as possible who are facing similar challenges. Our goal is to prevent others from experiencing the same heartbreak that affects not only individuals, but also their loved ones: mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, and many more.
Thank you,
Oliver and Samuel Cook
