At the start of 2025, we said a heartfelt goodbye to Henry's dad Andrew, and in a moment of madness Henry suggested cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats to try and raise a significant amount of money for St Nicholas Hospice, who cared for him during the final days of his life.

Our planned route is just over 1000 miles, with 59,350ft of climbing (just over twice the height of Mt Everest) in just 9 days...

During the final five days of his life, Andrew was cared for by the incredible team at St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds, and we were shocked to learn that it costs around £8 million a year to run the hospice, which works out to roughly £22,000 per day. While the hospice receives some government funding, the majority of its costs are covered by donations and fundraising efforts.

To honour Andrew’s memory and support the hospice that cared for him, we’ve set ourselves the very ambitious challenge of raising enough money to “cover the cost” of running the hospice during those five days, as outlined on the team fundraising page at the link above.

This is just one of the many ways we hope to give back to an organisation that provides such invaluable support to families in their time of need.
