Story

Today is ‘World Sight Day’ – a day to focus the world’s attention on the importance of eyecare and eye health. Oliver Goldsmith believe that no one deserves to be without access to eyecare and we hope to raise as much money as possible for Orbis, who transform lives through the prevention and treatment of blindness.

There are 1.1 billion people around the world living with the consequences of sight loss because they do not have access to eye care services. These are some of the poorest and most marginalised in society. Without change, this will rise to 1.8 billion people by 2050.

This year, #worldsightday will focus on the importance of eye care in the workplace, the aim is to encourage employers to make eye health initiatives standard practice and promote eye health habits that will benefit the well-being, safety and productivity of millions of employees. From factory floors and office buildings to staff rooms and studios, let’s ensure that eye care is available, accessible and affordable to all.

To be in for the chance of winning a pair of Oliver Goldsmith sunglasses (of your choice), all you have to do is make a donation to Orbis (via this Just Giving Page). Orbis is an international charity working to make eye care available everywhere, so no one has to experience the consequences of avoidable blindness.

However big or small, every donation will be hugely appreciated and will act as your entry to potentially win a pair of OG’s. So, please share far and wide to help save sight and transform the lives of the people who need it most.
