Story
On August 2nd, I’ll be running the ‘Round the Rock’ Jersey ultramarathon—48 miles of coastal trails and 4,500 feet of elevation, all in under 12 hours. https://roundtherock.co.uk/round-the-rock-jersey/
I would like to raise money for ANDYSMANCLUB - It's Okay To Talk
ANDYMANCLUB aims to improve mental health for men through peer-to-peer support groups. The whole life thing can get a bit much sometimes and I am very fortunate that I have an amazing support network of friends around me. A problem shared is a problem halved. So, I’d like to raise money for those who may not have that support network to rely on.
If you can forego just one pint this week and donate the cost instead, that’d be awesome.
I signed up for this race last year but ended up pulling out a few weeks before. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to train—I was just afraid I’d try and fail. Avoiding the risk just felt easier. In the end, I deferred my entry. Now I’m keen to get the monkey off my back!
My good friend Jock Catto will also be running the race—no doubt finishing a few hours ahead of me! Earlier this year, Jock completed a marathon distance every day for 20 consecutive days as part of Ned Brockman’s Uncomfortable Challenge. Nutter.
Shoutout to Cosmo Williams-Cadaras and Hazz Townsend for generously giving up their weekends to support, and to the Cooke family for kindly hosting us.
Fingers crossed I don’t need the toilet.
