Oliver's fundraiser for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Oliver Reed-Daunter is raising money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Worcester to Salcombe 200 Mile Ride! · 19 June 2026

Join the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in their movement against suicide. Every week, 125 lives are lost to suicide in the UK. It’s the leading cause of death for people aged 15–39, and for men under 50. CALM exists to change that.

Story

Hi, I’m Ollie, and on the 19th of June I’ll be attempting to cycle nearly 200 miles from Worcester to Salcombe in memory of Seb, a genuinely brilliant man and talented rugby player who, like far too many others, lost his life to suicide.

Seb was a huge part of the community in Kingsbridge and Salcombe, so it felt only right that we finish the ride there, ending up at his local, The Kings Arms. His family, friends, and the wider community have already done an incredible amount to raise awareness and support for CALM, and I wanted to do something, however small, to contribute to that effort.

As for the ride itself, I somehow managed to talk three friends into joining me for this completely ridiculous challenge. We’ll be leaving Worcester at the crack of dawn and spending the next 16 plus hours pedalling our way across the country towards Salcombe. There will almost certainly be sweat, suffering, failing morale, sore legs, and truly catastrophic levels of saddle discomfort. Four grown men voluntarily spending an entire day attached to bike seats is not something any of us imagined doing this year, but with enough caffeine and stubbornness, we’re determined to get there.

More importantly, we’re hoping to raise money for a cause that genuinely matters. CALM does incredible work supporting people struggling with mental health and suicide, while also helping friends and families affected by loss.

Any donation, no matter the size, would genuinely mean a huge amount, both to us and to the charity. Thank you so much for reading, donating, supporting, or even just sharing the page around.

Now please excuse me while I go and prepare my legs, lungs, and backside for a deeply questionable amount of time on a bicycle.

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones. £12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
