Story
I hate running, but more than that, I despise how we still aren’t good enough at talking about our feelings. Too many people are living in misery, not knowing what to do. Especially men these days, we put on a macho bravado that feelings are signs of weakness, that’s pathetic. Talking about our feelings, acknowledging that we aren’t always happy and asking for help are the signs of being a strong human being.
We shouldn’t be living miserable lives.
I am going to run (and walk parts probably) the Rome Marathon in March 2026 and aim to raise some money for CALM.
We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
