Story
18 months ago our world changed in a way I could never have imagined. My little mate became a little unsteady on his feet while on holiday in Rhodes, never did I think it was the start of what was to come.
Oz underwent scans and was immediately evacuated to Athens for emergency surgery. 2 weeks later and another medical flight, he was back in the RVI. Oz had been diagnosed with Medullablastoma, a cancerous brain tumour. 9 months of surgery, proton beam therapy and chemotherapy followed, but through it all Oz has been braver than any little boy should ever have to be. Oz is doing amazingly now, he's enjoyed his summer holidays and is embracing being back at school in Year 1, making up for lost time last year 😍
It's 18 months we want to put behind us as a family and just look forwards. But along the way we were helped by soo many people and charities to make the journey just that little bit more manageable. We can't raise money for all the charities that have helped us, so we have chosen to support Children's Cancer North. I've written before about how they have supported us previously and we will be enterally grateful as a family. There is loads more info on the work they do on the website, you might even come across me and Oz staring in some marketing material :-)
So I'm back for the great north run again this year, this time with a little group of mates. I don't want to ask for huge amounts of money, we have already done some amazing fundraising, how about we see how many £5 donations we can get?
