Story

TBCD is a severe and unpredictable neurodegenerative disorder. The majority of those diagnosed will have symptoms present from birth. TBCD children experience early onset hypotonia (muscle weakness), epilepsy, global developmental delays and, in many cases, breathing & feeding difficulties.

Little Leo was born with this and was the first child in the UK to be diagnosed with TBCD. The TBCD gene mutation affects his brain, central nervous system and his muscles. As a result he has epileptic seizures and low muscle tone, which means he has difficulty moving and breathing.
