Story
In late September I am going to take part in the 4.5km Dakar–Gorée Swim between Dakar (the capital of Senegal) and Gorée island.
I am raising money for two charities, one in the UK and one in Senegal. This Just Giving Page is for Small Steps.
Small Steps (UK): Small Steps is a charity very close to our hearts which helps children with physical disabilities, aged from birth to 5 years, work on all areas of their development, using the principles of conductive education. Our youngest daughter Lily (3) has been attending Small Steps every week for the last three years.
Small Steps has been transformational for Lily and our family, and we want to do all we can to allow the Small Steps team to continue to provide support to children and their families.
My employer, Kroll, is matching donations made by my colleagues for both Small Steps and the Senegalese charity AFEPC (Senegal). AFEPC works to improve the quality of life and well-being for children with Cerebral Palsy in Senegal by guaranteeing access to health services. Their work focusses on alleviating the physical and emotional burden on caregivers.
I am very grateful to Kroll for their financial and moral support for this adventure.
