The Cancer Club improves the lives of men affected by cancer by harnessing a shared love of sport to provide emotional support and a greater sense of well being

Story

I'm running the London Marathon for my Dad; my hero & my friend, who we sadly lost in September 2023.

My Dad battled Bowel Cancer for 8 years, never taking his diagnosis for what it was and never being defined by his illness - fighting at every turn to carry on living life to the absolute fullest throughout everything that came his way & continuing to make incredible memories.

He lived through his treatment & disease with a smile; never resting, never sitting back but on the front foot with positivity & what became known as his fierce defiance or fierce optimism that he carried throughout everything.

Bowel Cancer UK were one of the key charities that helped my Dad through his 8 years with this disease, and have been a close ally & support to Dad's own charity - The Cancer Club - even allowing me one of their charity places in this year's Marathon.

My Dad set up The Cancer Club in the midst of his own treatment; a charity that I am now a Trustee of with my brother Charlie - where we aim to bring together men with advanced cancer through sport to connect and share their experiences together.
