Oliver’s Sponsored Head Shave for Beach Ability Lincolnshire! 💙✂️

I am finally letting Oliver do something he’s been asking me to do for years… Shave all his hair off! 😳😂

You see he got me on something I couldn't really say no to.. he’s doing it to raise money for our charity, Beach Ability Lincolnshire... So on Saturday 22nd August, at The Lumley “Keep the Faith” Weekender in Skegness, he will brave the shave in front of a huge crowd!

Many of you know that Oliver has had an incredibly tough year. His scoliosis has progressed significantly, leaving him in constant pain and meaning he hasn’t been able to use his own wheelchair for months whilst waiting for specialist replacements. Alongside that, he’s also had three surgeries on his bowel and a kidney stone.

Despite everything he’s been through, Oliver’s first thought is never himself. He wanted to do something to help other people.

The reason Beach Ability means so much to us is because Oliver understands exactly what it’s like not to have the equipment you need to enjoy the things that many people take for granted.

When Oliver was little, being able to borrow a beach wheelchair so he could get onto the sand with his brothers and sisters completely changed what a family day at the seaside looked like for us. It gave him the freedom to enjoy the beach just like everyone else.

These days he’ll happily tell you he’s had his fill of beaches after spending so many summers there! 😂 But we have never forgotten what those beach days meant to our family, and we know they mean just as much to so many other families today.

That’s why Beach Ability Lincolnshire now provides free beach wheelchair hire across four Lincolnshire beaches, with a fifth site already under development. We also provide hoists and other specialist equipment to help make a day at the beach possible for everyone, regardless of mobility.

Every penny raised from Oliver’s head shave will help us keep this service completely free and growing further for the families who need it.
