Well… I’ve somehow signed myself up to run the London Marathon!

I’m incredibly lucky to have been given a place with Beaumond House, and I couldn’t think of a better reason to take on 26.2 miles.

I’m doing it for my grandad.

My grandad was a Grenadier Guard and a farmer, and he was and still is my biggest role model. He was kind, calm, hardworking and the sort of person everyone looked up to. He’s also the reason I’m a sheep farmer today.

When he was diagnosed with cancer, Beaumond House looked after him at home and made sure he was comfortable in his final days. They didn’t just care for my grandad, they cared for my grandma and the rest of our family too. I’ll never forget the kindness and support they gave us when we needed it most.

Ever since losing him, I’ve felt like I wanted to do something to say thank you. So when I got the chance to run the London Marathon for Beaumond House, I knew I had to do it.

I’m not pretending this is going to be easy! There’ll definitely be mornings when I’d rather stay in bed than go for a run, but I’ll always remember why I started. Every mile will be for my grandad, and every donation will help another family get the same incredible support that ours did.
