Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you know, in October 2025, after an extremely scary swelling up of my entire body, lots of hospital visits, a biopsy and a scan, I was diagnosed with Minimal Change Disease, a type of Nephrotic Syndrome. For a long time I couldn’t exercise, and was so so unwell. I’ve fought back and I am now taking part in my first fitness event since my diagnosis, Hyrox London 2025, so I thought what better idea than to fundraise for it!
Nephrotic Syndrome is a rare kidney disease (more commonly seen in children), where your kidneys leak too much protein into the urine. This causes swelling, increased risk of infection, risk of blood/clots, high cholesterol, relapses, and long-term medical care.
To quote NeST (Nephrotic Syndrome Trust) - ‘Unlike some other conditions and diseases, Nephrotic Syndrome is pretty unknown and has received very little attention in the media. That’s why you might not have heard of it before or understand why it’s so important we find a cure. We hope this website has helped you learn about NS and realise the crucial link between fundraising and research. Your donation is appreciated, however big or small, and since every penny goes directly to NeST, you can be confident that you’re doing everything possible to help end the struggles of thousands of people living with NS every day in the UK.’
