On 3rd October, I'll be stepping into a ring as part of a massive charity event, raising money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary's Hospital.

This is a cause that means a huge amount to me personally, because St Mary's NICU is where I started my own life!

I was born at St Mary's and spent a long time in the NICU, and although I don't remember that experience myself, I've grown up hearing from my parents about how difficult and frightening that time was for them. Having your baby cared for in a neonatal unit must be one of the most overwhelming experiences a family can go through, and I know how much the support and care at St Mary's meant to my family.

That's why this event fees like so much more than just a boxing challenge for me!

I want to help raise money for the families who are going through what my parents once went through, families who may be facing some of the hardest and most uncertain days of their lives. I want to help give the support, care and facilities they need while their little ones are being looked after.

Taking part in this boxing event is going to be one of the biggest challenges i've ever done, but knowing every training session and every bit of hard work is helping raise money for such an important cause that makes it worth it!
