A little change...
I'm now unable to run the Carsington Water Half Marathon because, on the date of the race, I will be 20 weeks pregnant. But my amazing husband Henry will be running in my place!
Henry is taking part in the Carsington Water Half Marathon to raise money for the charity ‘Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis’ in loving memory of my wonderful dad, who sadly passed away in September 2018. My dad, Terry Marshall, was a funny, tea-drinking Leonard Cohen fan with an unassuming manner and the gentlest heart.
In July 2015, he was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a disease where scar tissue builds up in the lungs, making it harder to take oxygen from the air as you breathe.
We are raising money for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis as it is a charity that is very close to our hearts.
It is a growing community of patients, families, researchers and healthcare professionals striving to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis so that everyone affected by the disease has a better future.
It provides personalised support to patients and families - and raises awareness of pulmonary fibrosis through campaigning, fundraising and education.
It is also committed to funding research to improve the quality of life for people living with pulmonary fibrosis today and tomorrow.
