Olivia's fundraiser for Flint House Police Rehabilitation

Olivia Troon is raising money for Flint House Police Rehabilitation

Battersea Park Half · 13 November 2026

Flint House is a charity funded by donations from those in the police service and their families. It is with these generous donations that we help and heal over 3,000 serving and retired police officers each year, providing physical rehabilitation and mental health support.

Story

I am running the Battersea Park Half in November 2026 for Flint House, a charity that delivers preventative and rehabilitative care for those in the police service. Flint House supports members of the police service to lead healthy lives and build resilient careers.

I have been a Police Constable in the Metropolitan Police Service for 4 years and have attended Flint House for both physical injury and mental health reasons. Working in a Policing role can cause significant impacts on mental and physical health, including high rates of post-traumatic stress symptoms, fatigue, and anxiety. The constant exposure to traumatic events, demanding workload, and potential for harm can lead to chronic stress and burnout.

Between 2023 and 2024, I was working incredibly long hours with very little rest and undertaking demands of an impossibly high work load. I was lucky enough to attend Flint House and took part in their Mental Health Programme which equipped me with helpful tools for stress management and allowed me some well needed down time to recuperate.

Without kind donations, this charity would not be able to do all of the amazing work that they already do for both serving and retired police officers throughout their career and thereafter.
