Story
Hi! I’m Olivia and I am running my first Brighton Marathon 2026 running for Scoliosis Support and Research.
The charity is something that means a lot to me as I myself have Scoliosis. I was diagnosed in 2022 after spending years of trying to identify the cause as to why I was in so much pain. I was none the wiser that it was my spine that was the cause. After many hospital appointments back and lots of tears I felt I had no other option than to go ahead with the Scoliosis correction surgery, however during investigations the consultant found a cyst located on my spinal cord. After many more hospital appointments I was informed it was too risky to go ahead with the operation.
I was stuck and unsure where what to do next so I decided to have an identity change I changed my style and hair trying to pick myself up and find a new me but that didn’t quite do it. So… Despite all of the consultants advising me against running what did I do… I decided to take myself out for my first run to pick myself up and that was where my running first began and I haven’t looked back since.
I would love to raise as much as possible for this brilliant charity! I would love to meet my target of £500 however it would be amazing if this could exceed. Your donation contributes towards new research and studies and also making so many people aware that Scoliosis is a condition that many people have!
Thanks very for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
